Šolta is one of the closest islands to Split but still remains one of the most authentic Dalmatian destinations. Unlike more famous islands like Hvar or Brač, Šolta offers a quieter atmosphere with preserved nature, olive groves and small fishing villages.
The island is also famous for its olive oil production, rosemary honey and local wines.
The island has only about 1,500 permanent residents, making it a perfect place to escape the crowds and find peace in untouched nature.

Getting Around the Island
Šolta has no public transport in the traditional sense. Most visitors bring their own car by ferry or rent an e-bike to explore the island. An e-bike is perfect for Šolta since the island is small enough to circle in one day.
To explore the coast by boat, we offer small speedboat/dinghy rentals with a 25 HP engine (license required) – the ideal way to discover hidden coves.

Damir Vidan is the fourth generation of the Vidan family connected to the island of Šolta, and his daughter is already the fifth. He is one of the family members who look after Casa Vidan and the author of the local guides, which are based on his own experience of Stomorska and Šolta.
He also runs the local family farm OPG Damir Vidan, where he grows olives and produces organic olive oil. When he is not among the olive trees or at Casa Vidan, he prefers to spend his time outdoors - on the boat, by the sea or on one of the quiet, secluded beaches in the shade of the pines.
