The island of Šolta is located directly across from the city of Split.
The main way to reach the island is by ferry.
The journey is short and pleasant, and upon arrival you'll be greeted by the peace and beauty of an unspoiled island.
Duration: about 45–60 minutes. From the ferry port of Rogač you can reach Stomorska by car or taxi in about 15 minutes.
The ferry connection operates several times daily during the tourist season. You can buy tickets at the port counter or online through Jadrolinija.
Tip: in season, book your car ticket in advance as ferries fill up quickly, especially on weekends.
You can find the ferry schedule and prices on official Jadrolinija ferry timetable.
For a worry-free trip, we recommend installing the Jadrolinija mobile app before arriving in Split. You can enter all your details and secure tickets and a spot on the ferry before you even arrive. Download the app using the links below.
For everyone who will still buy ferry tickets in person at the Jadrolinija counter in the Port of Split, we have one more tip that will save you a lot of nerves – take your vehicle registration document with you from the car to the counter (if you are traveling by car), because without it they often refuse to sell you a ferry ticket. True, it makes no sense, but it will save you quite a bit of time and frustration.
Before arriving on the island of Šolta, we recommend letting us know via WhatsApp (+386 41 944 202) which ferry (departure time from Split) you bought tickets for, so we know your approximate arrival time. After leaving the ferry in Rogač, simply follow the signs for Stomorska. Just before Stomorska you will descend the hill down to the seaside village, where you should stop your car at the first roundabout (photo below). Call us there and we will guide you to your parking space and apartment.
When you arrive in Stomorska, this is the view you will see in front of you. Stop in the area marked in red on the right or straight ahead, right by the sea, and call us at +386 41 944 202. Our house is located right next to the village (above Sweet Pub on your left) and we will meet you immediately and take you to your apartment.

If you plan to stay in Stomorska and explore the area, a car is not necessary. An e-bike is perfect for getting around, and a boat rental gives you access to beaches unreachable by road.
If you want to see the entire island in a short time, we recommend bringing a car by ferry or renting an e-bike from us.
Many visitors arrive by private boat or sailboat from Split. Stomorska has a small harbor with mooring options.
For the shortest and most comfortable arrival, Split is only 9 nautical miles from Stomorska – about 30 minutes by speedboat.

Damir Vidan is the fourth generation of the Vidan family connected to the island of Šolta, and his daughter is already the fifth. He is one of the family members who look after Casa Vidan and the author of the local guides, which are based on his own experience of Stomorska and Šolta.
He also runs the local family farm OPG Damir Vidan, where he grows olives and produces organic olive oil. When he is not among the olive trees or at Casa Vidan, he prefers to spend his time outdoors - on the boat, by the sea or on one of the quiet, secluded beaches in the shade of the pines.
